Jon-Louis Heimerl is the Manager of the Threat Intelligence Communication Team at NTT Security. In this role, he helps gather, digest and disseminate security relevant information and threat intelligence for both internal and external use. Jon has more than 35 years working in security, since starting with the CIA in 1984. He has been a programmer, a system and network administrator, a systems engineer, a security consultant and a product manager. His experience has included everything from writing a device driver in assembler, to managing a worldwide network for the United States Intelligence Community, to helping develop an incident response plan for the number one company in the Fortune 500. His consulting experience includes security assessments, security awareness training, social engineering and physical security assessments. Jon’s commentary has been featured in many media outlets, including USA Today, Inc Magazine, Barron’s, CSO Magazine, CIO Magazine, Dark Reading, SecurityWeek, Network World, InfoWorld, Business Week, Kiplinger’s, Computer World, Wired, eSecurity Planet, eWeek, Cyberdefense Magazine, Fox Business, SC Magazine, PC World, LA Times, Washington Post, Chicago Tribune, and Processor.com, among many others.
